I have been a member of NAOTC for about ten years and an employee of the Paducah & Louisville Railway at Paducah, Kentucky since before startup in 1986, which was formerly the Illinois Central Kentucky Division. Before that it was a part of the Cheasapeake, Ohio & Southwestern. I have gone through all the archives we had (they have since been donated) with the objective of putting together a history of the railroad between Louisville and Paducah. With that background, what I really am looking for are photocopies of Chesapeake, Ohio & Southwestern (1880s - 1896) material as well as older Illinois Central Kentucky and Tennessee Division materials (1896 - 1950's). Older predecessor railroads were the Ohio Valley (Henderson to Princeton, Kentucky), and the Owensboro, Falls of Rough and Green River (Owensboro to Horse Branch, Kentucky).

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for a great organization!

IC Western Lines Employees Timetables Wanted

I am a railroad employee and historian seeking to buy original or photocopied versions of employee timetables to support ongoing research of the Illinois Central’s Western Lines. Of interest are Iowa Division magazine-style timetables issued between the 1932 Western Lines division reorganization and 1959, and any magazine and saddleblanket style issues covering predecessor divisions during the 1870-1932 period (including the Iowa, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Cherokee, Omaha, Dubuque, and Freeport divisions, which existed during part or all of that era). Please contact me at (415) 328-7408 or cjgoepel@yahoo.com.

I know New Haven didn't have system time tables prior to the mid 1920s. If they did great. Any timetable except Oct 13th, 1913, and DEC 9, 1918 west of New London, and Willamantic. I would like them to be in good condition, so that they can be referred to occasionally. I am particularly interested in branches that were discontinued by the 1930s, especially those that went to upstate New York.
I would also like one Pennsy timetable in very good condition prior to the opening of Penn Station in NYC, as well as one LIRR in good condition prior to the opening of Penn Station.

I've been an active railfan and timetable collector for over 40 years. In that time, I've gradually accumulated various items that just don't fit into my personal collection. My list is on the internet at http://www.cjn253.com or I can be reached via e-mail at deano@cjn253.com . Public and employee timetables, miscellaneous paper railroadiana, and miscellaneous transportation items - some transit tokens and maps, some road and street maps - who knows what you might find?
Please visit, and thank you.
Steve Paris
